JEFF CATES – President, Chief Auctioneer
As the third generation owner, Jeff has been involved in the auction industry his entire life and has had the unusual opportunity to learn from the best. He is a former Missouri State Champion Auctioneer and has been a finalist in the International competition. Jeff served as an instructor at the Missouri Auction School and has earned coveted designations as “Certified Auctioneer”, “Accredited Auctioneer of Real Estate”, and “Certified Estate Specialist”. He is also a licensed Real Estate Broker in Missouri and Kansas.

GREG DUNCAN – Vice President
Greg adds more than 25 years of management and sales expertise to the Cates team. He brings invaluable expertise in a variety of fields including university teaching, operations and executive management, corporate training, sales development, small business ownership and elected municipal government. At Cates he provides leadership to all aspects of the business with emphasis on operations, sales and marketing. He is a licensed auctioneer and real estate agent.

CATRINA DUNCAN – Marketing Coordinator
After years of professional experience as a graphic designer for advertising agencies in Florida and Missouri, Catrina now enjoys working “in-house” for Cates clients. In addition to brand awareness initiatives, she is responsible for designing and executing each customized auction marketing campaign.

From the initial strategy to overseeing the build out of each component, she ensures that every property is marketed effectively and all clients receive the maximum impact for their advertising investments. She brings a wealth of expertise in both traditional and digital media and has won numerous state and national awards for her Cates advertising.

CHANDLER CATES – Digital Marketing and Analytics Specialist
Chandler graduated with a degree in Business Administration and Entrepreneurial Finance, and began
his career in advertising technology in Chicago, IL. He is completing a certification in computer science
from the Harvard Business Extension. Prior to joining Cates Auction he was an Optimization Analyst for
an industry-leading firm where he worked with multi-million dollar, multi-channel campaigns and
collaborated in building the company’s first proprietary Marketing Intelligence platform.

Representing the 4 th generation of the Cates family, Chandler is responsible for applying his expertise in
advertising technology and data-driven marketing to continue building the Cates brand and ensuring
that each auction property benefits from the most effective, cutting-edge technology available.

KIM MANGUM – Administrative & Marketing Assistant
Kim is responsible for the smooth administration of the many details behind the scenes of every successful auction event. This includes front line customer service, document and file management, coordination of open houses and closings, as well as communication with buyers and sellers throughout the process.

Prior to joining Cates, she worked as an office manager and administrative assistant, as well as performing job costing for the largest HVAC company in the KC metro area. Cates’ staff, vendors, clients and customers all depend on Kim’s pleasant demeanor and firm attention to detail to keep things on track!

CARRIE DILBECK – Personal Property Auction Coordinator
Every personal property auction is unique and requires a broad range of expertise for both strategy and execution — all in a short turnaround time. Carrie is perfectly suited to this ever-changing environment. As a retail business owner and as general manager of a prominent regional jazz club and restaurant, she perfected the art of managing competing priorities, developing high performing teams, and balancing the urgent with the important.

Carrie and her crew are experts in sorting, lotting, photographing and describing personal property items for Cates’ online auctions. Bidders appreciate the thorough information and excellent customer service, while sellers appreciate the price realization achieved for their belongings.

DENNIS LOLLAR – Auction Logistics Coordinator
Dennis began his career with Cates Auction as a part time contractor assisting behind the scenes with a variety of auction production details. Eventually he accepted a full-time position on the Cates team as Auction Logistics Coordinator. His experience in large event production, volunteer service and major maintenance projects, along with his penchant for planning serve him well in this role. He is responsible for the myriad of details in managing properties, coordinating signage, maintaining Cates’ equipment and vehicles, and directing auction day operations.

Ray’s sales and marketing career in the financial services sector spans thirty years including ten years with a Fortune 100 company. A top producer in financial services including commercial mortgage and capital lending, risk management, complex estate and succession planning, Ray has an established history of solving his clients’ problems.

Ray channeled this expertise into the real estate field and became a licensed Realtor in Missouri and Kansas. To offer a truly unique solution (and turn a lifelong interest into a niche career) he decided to specialize in real estate auctions, graduating from the Missouri Auction School in 2009. His background is a natural spring board to his specialization in commercial real estate, consulting with brokers and representing owners of commercial properties as they turn to the benefits of auction.
