A Word About the Published Minimum Bid

Many times the seller's "reserve" or minimum acceptable bid is unknown to the bidders. In those instances, the high bidder finds out at the conclusion of bidding if he or she was successful in purchasing the property.

Why would the seller set such a low reserve? Because he wants to sell and is prepared to accept what the market is willing to pay. (Far more uncommon these days than it should be!)
